The Bobcats were swept in a doubleheader at Long Island on Sunday. They were only able to muster one hit in the first game, two base runners overall, and one run in the second game.
The Blackbirds struck early in the first game, scoring seven times in the first two innings. By the time the Bobcats got their first runner on base it was already 8-0. The Blackbirds added two more in fourth for the 10-0 win.
In the second game the Bobcats offense was livelier, cracking five hits but couldn’t scratch a run across until the fifth inning. Heather Schwartzburg limited the Blackbirds but the Bobcats couldn’t mount enough offense. Schwartzburg gave up three runs on eight hits while striking out eight.
The Bobcats are now 11-15 on the season, 0-2 in the NEC.
