Heather Schwartzburg struck out 10 batters en route to picking up both wins in the Bobcats double header sweep of Fairleigh Dickinson.  The Bobcats defeated the Knights 7-4 and 3-1.

The first game was a back and forth battle for the first three innings.  The Bobcats struck first on an Alex Alba RBI single.  But the Knights tied the game in the bottom of the first.  In the bottom of the second the Bobcats again took the lead.  This time it was Kim Le Bel bringing in the run.  But the Knights again responded, scoring twice to take the lead.  The Bobcats tied the game in the third on a Heather Maffeo RBU double.

In the fourth the Bobcats put the game away, scoring four times.  Katie Allendorfer drove in the two runs with a single to center.  Alba followed with a homerun to center to cap the scoring.

The Knights added another run in the seventh but it was too late.

The second game was a pitcher’s duel between Schwartzburg and the Kinghts’ Kristen Schreve.  The two held the teams scoreless through the first five innings.

In the sixth the Bobcats finally got to Schreve when Alba continued her outstanding day with an RBI single to right.  But the Knights tied the game in the bottom of the inning, sending the game to the seventh tied at one.

In the seventh, Alba again came through by smacking a single to left to bring in two runs and give the Bobcats the sweep.

Alba finished the day with six RBIs.
