For the second straight day, the Bobcats swept their double header, this time against Bryant. Heather Schwartzburg won both game, coming out in relief in the first game and starting the second game.
The Bobcats(15-15, 2-2 NEC) had several chances to score in the first game, several times having runners on base with less than two outs but couldn’t scratch across a run. The game was scoreless until the ninth when Kelly Wall cranked a home run to left to give the Bobcats the 1-0 win.
The Bobcats didn’t wait as long to score in the second game, with Katie Allendorfer driving in Alex Murray in the third inning. But the Bulldogs tied the game in the fourth.
But the tie wouldn’t last long as the Bobcats scored three more in the bottom of the fourth. The first run came across on a wild pitch before Angela Casella smacked a two-run double to left to extend the lead to 4-1.
Allendorfer drove in the final two runs of the day in the sixth.
Schwartzburg struck out 15 batters on the day while allowing only one run on five hits.
