The Bobcats split their double header with Robert Morris, winning 1-0 in the first game and falling 6-5 in game two.  Alex Alba’s first career homerun propelled the Bobcats to victory in the first game.

Game one was dominated by pitching, with the teams combining for six hits.  Alba’s homerun in the fourth provided the only offense.  Emily Bellush started for the Bobcats, going four innings, allowing just three hits.  Heather Schwartzburg came on in relief in the fifth and stifled the Colonials, allowing one hit and striking out five.

The second game started off very similar to the first, with the Colonials leading 1-0 after three innings and the teams combing for three hits.  But the offense woke up after that, each side scoring five times in the last four innings.

The Bobcats took their first lead of the game when Kelly Wall blooped a single up the middle to drive in two and give the Bobcats a 3-2 lead in the fifth.

But that lead wouldn’t last long.  The Colonials retook the lead in the sixth.  After loading the bases, Britta Grafton blasted a grand slam to left to give the Colonials a 6-3 lead.

The Bobcats wouldn’t go down without a fight, scoring two more in the sixth on a sacrifice fly and an error by the shortstop.  But it was not enough to complete the comeback.
