The Bobcats couldn’t score a run as they were eliminated from the NEC Softball Tournament. The Bobcats fell to No. 2 Monmouth 6-0 and No. 3 Robert Morris 3-0.
Heather Schwarztburg started both games for the Bobcats, striking out nine in all. In the first game Monmouth struck for two in the second inning and sealed the win with three runs in fifth. The Hawks tacked on another run in the sixth.
In the second game Schwartzburg held Robert Morris off the board until the seventh when the Colonials struck for three runs. But the Bobcats could not mount any offensive attack.
Schwartzburg became the first Bobcat pitcher to strikeout 250 batters in a season. She finished the season with 255 strikeouts. She is also the first Bobcat to record back-to-back 200 strikeout season.
