In a matchup of two teams undefeated in conference play, the Bobcats came up short as they were defeated by a conference opponent for the first time this year.  Sacred Heart won the NEC regular season title with a 9-5 victory.

The first half was a defensive battle as there were four goals scored in whole first half, with the Bobcats (9-6, 8-1 NEC) taking a 3-1 into half time.

But the Pioneers took over in the second half, limiting the Bobcats to just two goals.  The game was tied 5-5 with just over six minutes left to play but the Pioneers scored the last four goals of the game to earn the win.

Devon Gibney led the Bobcats by scoring two goals, while Lauren Matuszczak added a goal and an assist.

With the win, the Pioneers earned the right to host the NEC Tournament.  The Bobcats begin tournament action of Friday.
