Down 4-3 at halftime, the Bobcats used a 4-0 run early in the third quarter to deafeat Hobart and win their fourth straight game.  Bobcat goalie Kevin Benzing made a career high 21 saves to backstop the 9-7 win.

Thirty-six seconds into the third quarter the Bobcats tied the game on a goal by Alex Marotto.  About half way through the third the Bobcats took the lead for good when Billy Alessi fired it past Hobart goalie Max Silberlicht.  Jack Oppenheimer increased the Bobcats’ lead to two under a minute later with a shot just under the crossbar.  The scoring run was completed when Marotto scored again to give the Bobcats a 7-4 lead.

The Statesmen scored two and a half minutes into the fourth but the Bobcats responded five minutes later to regain their three goal.  Hobart scored the next two goals to cut the lead to one at 8-7.  But Marotto’s third goal of the game with just over three minutes left sealed the win.

The Bobcats are now 4-1 on the season, 1-1 in ECAC play.
