A late comeback was not enough for the Bobcats, who fell to Holy Cross 8-7.  After jumping out to a 4-0 lead in the first, the Bobcats gave it all back to the Crusaders in the bottom half of the inning to go down 7-4.

In the fifth inning, down 8-4, the Bobcats mounted their comeback.  A one out single by Brian Monack and then back to back walks to Joe Poletsky and Gabe Guerino loaded the bases.  Kyle Nisson followed by smacking a double, driving in Monack and Poletsky.  A groundout scored Guerino and brought the Bobcats to within one, 8-7.  But it was a close as the Bobcats would get as John Pedrotty and Ryan George shut down the Bobcats from then.

The game couldn’t have started any better for the Bobcats.  A leadoff single followed by three straight walks brought home the first run of the game and the bases were loaded with no outs.  Guerino stroked a single to bring home two with one out and a groundout brought in another to give the Bobcats a 4-0 lead.

But the lead would not last long.  Bobcat starter Todd DeFrancesco gave up seven runs in the inning, including two homeruns, one a grand slam.  DeFrancesco gave up just three hits through the rest of his five innings, but one of those was another homerun to give the Crusaders an 8-4 lead that was just enough.

The Bobcats are still looking for their first win of the season and are 0-11.
