After being shut out 9-0 in the first game of the day, Kyle Birdsall responded by throwing a shutout of his own in the second game.  He limited Long Island to four hits in the complete game.

The Bobcats gave Birdsall the lead in third.  With runners on second and third, Brian Monack drove a single to right to bring in both.  After a single from Joe Poletsky advanced Monack third, Chris Migani grounded into a fielder’s choice to bring in Monack and give Birdsall a 3-0 lead.

The Bobcats capped the scoring in the fourth.  Back to back singles and an error had runners on second and third when Mickey Amanti drove the pitch to left for a 2-run double.  With Birdsall dominating the Blackbirds, the 5-0 lead was more than enough for the win.

In the first game, the Blackbirds’ Adam Sauter threw the complete game shutout, allowing five hits and walking two.
