For the first time this season, the Quinnipiac baseball team is on a winning streak after beating Sacred Heart 10-6 Saturday.  After going down 6-0 in the first inning, Alex Russow shut down the Pioneers, allowing the Bobcats to mount the comeback.

Russow came into the game in the first inning after Bobcat starter Todd DeFrancesco gave up six runs in just 2/3 of an inning.  Russow allowed only four hits the rest of the game.

The Bobcats started the comeback in the second when Kyle Nisson drove in Joe Poletsky with a single to right.  Poletsky came around to score on a double by Mickey Amanti.

The Bobcats cut the lead to two in fifth when Ben Farina drove in Ryan Ullrich with a single to center.  Farina scored on a single by Brian Monack that was misplayed in center.

The Bobcats scored five times in the eighth to complete the comeback.  The rally was capped by a double by Farina to drive in Ullrich and take a 10-6 lead.

The win was the first of Russow’s career.
