Baseball Swept By Bryant
Despite two solid starts from its starters, the Bobcats were unable to pull out a victory in their double header against Bryant. The Bobcats (14-34, 13-14 NEC) fell 3-0 and 4-3 to the Bulldogs and have lost the first three games of the series.
The first game featured a pitcher’s duel between the Bobcats Kyle Birdsall and the Bulldogs’ Eric Polvani. Neither pitcher surrendering a run until a pickoff play gone wrong gave Bryant the 1-0 edge in the fourth.
The Bulldogs added two more in the sixth and it was more than enough for Polvani, who gave up just one hit and struck out nine in the complete game.
In the second game the Bulldogs struck first again, scoring three times in the second. From then Bobcat starter Anthony Cinelli shut down the Bulldogs and gave the Bobcats a chance to rally.
The Bobcats got on the board in the fifth on a Chris Migani RBI single. But the Bulldogs got the run back in the sixth. It would prove to be the game winner as the Bobcats scored once in the sixth and again in the seventh.
Migani finished the game 2-for-4 with 2 RBIs while Ben Farina scored twice.
