The Bobcats had their longest winning streak against NEC opponents since 2007 snapped Saturday against Central Connecticut State University.  The Bobcats split their double header with the Blue Devils, winning the first game 13-4 and falling in the second game 8-4.

In the first game, the Bobcats (9-25, 8-7 NEC) jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the third and never looked back.  They added five more in both the fourth and fifth innings to put the game out of reach.  The Blue Devils wouldn’t score until the Bobcats were well ahead, 12-0.

Brian Monack led the Bobcats, going 4-for-5 with two RBIs and three runs scored while Mickey Amanti went 3-for-3, also with two RBIs and three runs scored.

In the second game, the Bobcats fell behind and could never figure out Blue Devils’ starter Jeff Meade.  The Bobcats were down 4-0 after three innings and wouldn’t score until their final at-bats, when it was 8-0.

Mike Bartlett highlighted the Bobcats offense, going 1-for-2 with a two run homerun to center.
