With a playoff spot in the line, the Bobcats opened a four game series with Wagner Thursday.  But things didn’t go the way the Bobcats wanted in Game 1 as they fell 6-3.

The Bobcats (14-36, 13-16 NEC) scored first on a Joe Poletsky single to center to bring in Mickey Amanti.  Bobcat starter Mike Oskandy held the Seahawks off the board until the fourth and fifth innings.

In the fourth, Jon Lucas followed a leadoff single with a homerun to left.  The Seahawks put the game away in the fifth, scoring four times to go up 6-1.  The first four batters of the inning reached, driving in the first two runs.  Lucas added his third RBI of the game with a sacrifice fly to right before the final run crossed the plate thanks to an error from Amanti.

The Bobcats made a comeback attempt, scoring once in each the seventh and the eighth innings.  Mike Bartlett scored in the seventh on a passed ball.  Gabe Guerino drove in the Bobcats last run in eighth on a sacrifice fly to left.

The Bobcats and Seahawks continue the four game series Friday with a doubleheader.
