Holding a 4-1 lead in the seventh inning, it looked as though the Bobcats were on their way to their first win of the season. But Holy Cross scored five runs in the last three innings to pull out a 6-4 win.
Down 4-3 in the ninth, the Crusaders loaded the bases with one out. Spencer Kane came out of the bullpen and gave up a long single to right, driving in two and gicing the Crusaders a 5-4 lead. A double drove in the last Crusader run.
The Crusaders got the scoring started in the first. Kyle Birdsall retires the first two batters before the next Crusader reached on an error followed by a walk. Nick Ciardello doubled to left to give the Crusaders the 1-0 lead.
But the lead would not last long as the Bobcats responded in their half of the first. After three walks loaded the bases one out, Joe Poletsky reached on an error allowing Mickey Amanti to score and tie the game. The Bobcats would take a 2-1 lead on a wild pitch later in the inning.
The Bobcats started the sixth with back-to-back singles and had runners on second and third with no outs. Poletsky then smacked a double to left to bring in tqo and give the Bobcats a 4-1 lead. But the Crusaders scratched a run across in the seventh and then score three in the ninth to win.
The Bobcats are still looking for the first win of the season and are 0-12.
