With a single in the first inning, Ben Farina extended his hitting streak to 18 games but it was not enough as the Bobcats fell to UMass 5-2 Tuesday.

The Bobcats fell behind 2-0 after three but battled back and tied the game in the sixth.  Joe Poletsky started the rally with a walk and Chris Migani followed with a bunt single to put runners on first and second.  A sacrifice bunt advanced the runners to second and third.  Ray Buckley’s sacrifice fly brought in the first run before a wild pitch tied the game.

UMass retook the lead in the sixth and added two more in the seventh to take the win.

Kevin Castodio started for the Bobcats, giving up two runs on six hits over six innings.  He struck out four.

Farina finished the day 3-for-5.  Ryan Ullrich also went 3-for-5.
