After winning their first game of the season Friday, the Bobcats dropped a pair of games to Mount St. Mary’s Saturday. The Bobcats fell to the Mountaineers 5-2 and 8-3.
The Bobcats (1-14, 1-2 in NEC) struck first in game one, scoring twice in the fifth. Chris Migani’s bases loaded single drove in two but it was all the Bobcats would get in the game. Anthony Cinelli shut down the Mountaineers for six innings, giving up seven hits but ran into trouble in the seventh.
Josh Winter’s first homerun of the season tied the game at two. The game would stay that way until the ninth when the Mountaineers scored three times off Derek Lamacchia.
In the second game, the Mountaineers scored early and the Bobcats never recovered. Mount St. Mary’s scored once in the first, four in the second, once in the third, and twice in the fifth to build an 8-0 lead.
The Bobcats scored their only runs of the game on a two run triple by Brian Monack followed by a single by Joe Poletsky.
The Bobcats and Mountaineers conclude their four game series on Sunday.
